I took 85 pictures last night

I took little guy to the park last night after I got off work. Weather was perfect. Sun was still out. He loved it. I'm happy I had my camera with me. I got to capture that smile of his. That smile that I think about 24/7.

Have a Happy 4th & Stay Cool!! It's supposed to be close to the 100's in the DC area so I'm thinking POOL!!!

Day 2 of this fun project is to photograph your subject & how they look.

Subject: My 9 month old
Look: Peek a Boo

I got down on the floor for this one and hid behind the kitchen counter, I popped out to say Peek A Boo and this was the look I got!!! :)

Day one's assignment was to photograph the one you love doing what they DO!

What he does: EATS

Took the pic on my canon rebel and I won't lie I took the easy way out and shot the pic on automatic, I hang my head in shame!! :(

But I did use Pioneer Woman's warmer action to help liven the pic up a little.

Stretching my Photography Skills (or lack of)

I am so excited! Ever since getting my Canon Rebel in the fall, I have been obsessed with learning how to really use it & take great pics of my family. I still plan to use professional photography for special occasions but at times budget just doesn't permit that.

Anywho, I came across Willette Photography & More when looking for tutorials & tips and saw that she is hosting a workshop called the joy of LOVE. The purpose is to take pics of the ones you love while learning more about photography. I will get daily assignments and will be sharing my progress. Can't Wait!!! It starts tomorrow!!!

DIY Christmas Cards

I made my own Christmas cards this year!!!! They are not amazing as I am just learning how to use Photoshop but I came across a simple template and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.

Time sure does fly!

I cannot believe it has been 6 months since I met my little guy. He is already learning to sit, plays with toys, loves to splash in the water, trying to figure out crawling but instead rolls to his destination. He is just so fun. We will be starting solids very soon, like maybe this week and I think we’ll go the homemade route. We have randomly given him a taste of sweet potatoes and bananas but he wasn’t ready yet so he’s been indulging in oatmeal once a day.

We recently went to the farm to see if we can get a pumpkin but instead we left with apple cinnamon donuts ( I hang my head in shame!) – here are some pics of the little guy checking out the scenery.
